크리스프 웨지는 3월 24일부터 김아연의 개인전《멈추어 있으나 움직이는》을 개최한다. 작가는 뿌리째 뽑힌 거대한 나무의 잔해 속에서 목격한 ‘지속되는 생의 기운’을 바탕으로, 정지된 화면 내부에 잠재된 미세한 운동성을 탐구한다. 이번 전시에서 회화는 고정된 결과물이 아닌, 형상과 물질이 서로 침투하고 변형되는 유동적인 생태계로 제시된다. 캔버스를 구겨 물질의 저항을 드러낸 작업부터, 관객의 이동에 따라 분절되고 연결되는 대형 회화, 그리고 표면을 관통하는 바느질로 내부와 외부를 잇는 트레싱지 작업까지 매체적 경계를 넘나드는 신작들을 선보인다. 김아연은 생명과 무생물, 자연과 인공이라는 이분법적 질서가 붕괴되는 지점에 주목하며, 멈춘 것처럼 보이는 세계 이면에서 부단히 요동치는 관계의 진실을 대면케 한다.

Crisp Wedge is pleased to present A Yeon Kim's solo exhibition, "Still Moving," from March 24 to April 5. Drawing from the "enduring vitality" witnessed within the remains of a massive uprooted tree, the artist explores the subtle movement latent within the static pictorial plane. In this exhibition, painting is presented not as a fixed outcome, but as a fluid ecosystem where form and matter permeate and transform one another. From works that reveal material resistance by crumpling the canvas to large-scale paintings that fragment and reconnect in response to the viewer’s movement, and tracing paper works that bridge interior and exterior through stitches penetrating the surface, the exhibition introduces new works that traverse medial boundaries. Kim A-yeon focuses on the point where binary orders—life and the inanimate, nature and the artificial collapse, confronting the viewer with the truth of relations that incessantly fluctuate beneath a world that appears to be at a standstill.
