김희소의 작업 세계에서 감각, 사고, 직관과 같은 의식 활동의 파편들은 관념으로 조직되어 화면 속에서 부유하는 형태들로 가시화됩니다. 이러한 형태들은 복잡한 공존 속에서도 질서와 조화를 창출하며, 단순한 지리적 구조를 넘어 새로운 의미와 가능성이 펼쳐지는 관계의 장소이자 경계 없는 지형도를 생성합니다. 작가는 가로선과 세로선의 교차, 그리고 픽셀 이미지를 자아 내면의 체계 안에서 구조화하는데, 화면 위의 선들은 사물과 사건을 만들어내는 원인이자 관념들이 공존할 수 있는 공간을 형성하며 자아의 최소 단위들을 결합합니다.

아크릴과 거울을 경유하는 이번 신작들은 평면의 이미지를 입체적 서사로 전이시키며 가상과 현실, 그리고 시간의 흐름이 교차하는 지점을 탐색합니다. 대면의 감각이나 찰나의 사유처럼 보이지 않는 연결고리들은 추상적인 기호로 변모하여 우리 앞에 놓인 내면의 체계를 견고하게 지탱합니다. 질서와 자유라는 이분법적 틀을 벗어나 사유의 단층들을 입체적으로 재구성한 《Trace Mapping》은, 작가가 구축한 ‘살아있는 시스템’ 안에서 우리 스스로가 내면의 좌표를 다시 그려보는 사유의 장이 될 것입니다.

In Heeso Kim’s work, fragments of conscious activity—sensation, thought, and intuition—are distilled into conceptual frameworks and visualized as floating topographies within the pictorial space. These forms engender a distinct sense of order and harmony within their complex cohabitation, manifesting a "site of relations" and a borderless topography where novel meanings and latent possibilities unfold beyond mere geographic architecture. The artist systematically structures horizontal and vertical intersections alongside pixelated imagery within the framework of her internal self. On the surface, these lines act as both the generative source of objects and events and as a spatial container for conceptual coexistence, synthesizing the irreducible units of the self.

In her latest series utilizing acrylic and mirrors, Kim transposes planar imagery into three-dimensional narratives, interrogating the intersections between the virtual, the real, and the temporal continuum. Intangible connections—the sensation of encounter or fleeting ruminations—are transmuted into abstract ciphers that provide structural support to the internal systems presented before us. Transcending the binary of order and freedom to reconstruct the strata of thought in three dimensions, Trace Mapping serves as a contemplative arena within the artist’s "living system," inviting us to recalibrate our own internal coordinates.
